El Chorro is a limestone gorge in Andalusia in southern Spain, where the Guadalhorce river passes through. It was dammed in 1921, forming three reservoirs which are flanked by pine forests. The area is now called Malaga’s Lake District.
The area is most famous as being one of the best rock climbing areas in Europe, but is also very popular for mountain biking, hiking, fishing and camping.
El Chorro is surrounded by Natural Parklands and is a prime tourist spot of Andalucia. Guest Houses and Rural Tourism in general has year round trade due to the diversity of activities that can be enjoyed.
