St. Julian's is a town in Malta situated along the coast, north of the country's capital, Valletta. It is known for tourism-oriented businesses, such as hotels, restaurants and nightclubs, centred mostly in an area known as Paceville. Paceville is the name given to an informal district heavily populated with nightclubs, bars, pubs and restaurants, and is considered to be Malta's nightlife capital. Paceville is located between Spinola Point and Dragonara Point, delimiting Spinola Bay and St. George's Bay respectively.

Paceville is a fun night-life area riddled with bars and nightclubs which practically stand door-to-door, with music often starting at 7pm and being played loud enough to be heard on the streets. It attracts Maltese residents and numerous foreigners alike. The visitors range from businesspersons on short trips staying at the more lavish hotels, to the language students who make up a fair portion of the population and who multiply in numbers and residency from May through September. This is first and foremost a place for having fun, letting loose, dancing and socialising until the early morning hours.
