Piedmont is a region in the northwest of Italy, and shares its border with France to the west and Switzerland to the North of the region.
Piedmont is famous for its wines, which include some of the best produced from Italy such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, Dolcetto and Moscato D'Asti, its local cuisine reknown throughout Italy and the precious white truffles of this region which have been compared to gold because of their cost and delicacy.

Turin was the first capital of modern Italy, and was the host of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games. While it's not a famous tourist destination like Florence or Rome, the setting is pleasant, with the Po River flowing through the city, the genteel hills overlooking the city and scattered with pleasant villas and the Italian Alps off in the distance.
Cannobio is a town and comune on Lago Maggiore in Piedmont, Italy. Cannobio has its own "Lido" at the north end of town with a large sandy beach. The beach has a European Union Blue Flag for its cleanliness and facilities.
The Susa, Chisone and Germanasca valleys all offer the opportunity to try out Olympic ski slopes, cross country ski courses, outstanding alpine skiing and mountaineering routes. In Pragelato is possible skiing in two different areas:
Pragelato ski (about 50 km of slopes)
Via Lattea ski (about 400 km of slopes). Via lattea resort are: Sestriere, Sauze d'Oulx, Montgenevre, Claviere, Pragelato, San Sicario, Cesana.
