Situated at the south-eastern tip of the Italian peninsula, Apulia's climate is hot and dry in the summer, and what rain there is falls in the winter months.
Bari is the capital of the Apulia region of Italy. Bari is the largest and most important city of Apulia (even larger than Lecce) and stands on the Adriatic coast. It's mainly famous for being one of the exit doors of Italy, where travellers leave on ferries for neighboring countries. There a lot of places to see in Bari, especially in the ancient part of the city, called Bari Vecchia by locals. It's a beautiful mediaeval quarter in which there are a lot of important churches. The cathedral of Saint Nicolaus, for instance, has a gold ceiling and a crypt.

Brindisi is a city in the South of Italy, right down in the "heel of the boot" in the region of Apulia (Puglia).
Lecce has been dubbed the Florence of the south. Whereas many people (not understandably) skip it in favour of the nearby beach towns of the Salento peninsula, this city, distinguished by its elaborate style of baroque buildings, has at least a couple of days of attractions worth seeing.
Ostuni in the province of Brindisi, Puglia is known for its nearby pristine beaches, as well as a vibrant olive and grape agribusiness. The so-called "Old Town" is Ostuni's citadel build on the top of a hill and still fortified with the ancient walls. Ostuni is reputed an architectural jewel, and is commonly referred to as "the White Town" for its white walls and its typically white-painted architecture.
A renowned marine resort in Gargano, Vieste has often received Blue Flags for the purity of its waters from the Foundation for Environmental Education.
