The town of Cutar is situated approximately 14 kilometres to the north of Vélez Málaga, and some 40 kilometres east of the provincial capital, Malaga. With the ever-popular Lake Vinuela to the east of this small hamlet, fishing, swimming, and boating can be enjoyed on this picturesque inland attraction.
To the south of Cutar, the busy Costa del Sol awaits, with the Mediterranean beaches at Velez Malaga, Rincon de la Victoria and Nerja further to the east. The busy town of Benamargosa is only 5 km away from Cutar, and offers a good selection of bars and restaurants with local cusine.
In contrast, it is hard to imagine that this small village of just 700 hundred folk, lays so close to one of the busiest tourist centres in the world. Hidden away in this quiet corner of Andalucia, Cutar will remain hopefully, a true sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of this modern world; a living reflection of a different way of life that still endures till this day.
