With a history dating back to the Bronze Age, Benalmádena has had many visitors down the ages including the Phoenicians, the Romans, and the Moors. The two Almenara towers on the coastline date back to the 15thcentury, and were constructed in order to protect the population from frequent incursions by Barbary Pirates.

Situated 12kms West of Malaga, Benalmádena lays on the coast between Torremolinos and Fuengirola, representing nowadays one of the most popular Holiday Resorts on the Costa del Sol. With a population of some 30,000 residents, this busy coastal town has a vast selection of souvenir shop, bars, restaurants, shopping centres, and an outstanding marina.

The Sea Life Aquarium and Selwo Marina offer tourist attractions with dolphins, penguins and seals to name just a few species, and the Tivoli World Theme Park caters for all ages. For those of you who want to dance the night away, 24 Hour Square hosts nightclubs just a short walk from the waterfront.
